This book written by Eleanor Clymer was made into a short film starring Scott Baio as Julius in 1976. Julius ends up a children's home after his mother is taken to the hospital ill. With his father not being around or his moms boyfriend anymore he has to learn to re-trust adults. In the book Julius has brother, but not in the movie.
Scott and Costar David Pendleton who plays Luke and is know from the Soaps. Another co-star was Polly Holiday as Mrs,. Cronkite the social worker, who would go on to be Flo on Alice and Matthew Anton who played his friend Max. Matthew would go on to co-star with Brooke Shields in Pretty Baby and be as Bad News Bear in The Bad News Bears Go to Japan.
Scott be no more then 15 at the time he though he looks much younger and still bares the Bugsy Malone hair cut. it appear to have been filmed in New York and get kick out of Scott's strong New York accent. Which for years I didn't even notice till he did his E! True Hollywood Story. Scott shows a wide range of his acting ability here. This short film was shown a NBC Special Treat and an ABC weekend special. It is by far my favorite of Scott's work. Check it out for your self!
